Bob Wolf Creations L.C. Artist Hand-Cut Stone Jewelry

Bob Wolf is a lapidary jewelry artist that takes natural rock and turns it into beautiful pieces of jewelry.

"My goal is to find the most beautiful natural stone in the world and showcase it in original settings."

No two settings are alike and only precious metal wire is used to make the settings.

"Besides pendents, I also design and make rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings."

To give you an example, above is a piece of natural turquoise from the 'Sleeping Beauty Mine' before I cut and polish it. The turquoise nugget is natural and was purchased directly from the 'Sleeping Beauty Mine' .  The mine closed four years ago.

Besides turquoise, I obtain other semi-precious stones from rock hunting trips to Colorado, from mines around the world, or from other rock collectors. My goal is to obtain the highest quality stone possible and then enhance its beauty.

Once a stone is selected,  it is oriented for cutting.  This is the most difficult and rewarding part of cutting a stone. How the stone is orientated determines it's brilliance.

After the initial cut, the stone is trimmed again and shaped by hand on diamond wheels until it reaches a high-gloss finnish.

Then it is set in an original design using precious metal wire.

"Even the stones I acquire already polished are polished a second time in the shop to enhance the stone.  Many of these stones are also reshaped"

Nominated by the Texas Commission on the Arts twice as an official Texas Artist Finalist in 2007/08 and 2009/10, Mr. Wolf has been showing at about 30 fine arts shows per year for the past sixteen years and loves meeting new people. Art is his full-time profession.

"We would love to see you at one of our shows!"
