Gem-grade Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Pendant from the Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Mine in Globe, Arizona. The turquoise is unstabalized gem grade turquoise which I acquired years ago from the mine. According to the Turquoise Museum in New Mexico, 90% of all turquoise is chemically hardened to enable the stone to be used in jewelry. Ten percent of all turquoise rough requires no hardening and is referred to as ‘gem-grade turquoise’. This piece is gem grade and stunningly beautiful. The Sleeping Beauty mine closed four years ago.
