DESCRIPTION
Gem-grade Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Pendant from the Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Mine in Globe, Arizona. This stone has a deeper blue color than many Sleeping Beauty stones with a speck of ‘fools gold’ in the center with some matrix. The turquoise is unstabalized gem grade turquoise which I acquired years ago from the mine. According to the Turquoise Museum in New Mexico, 90% of all natural turquoise is too soft to be made into jewelry without requiring chemical hardening. This turquoise is gem-grade and required no hardening. The Sleeping Beauty mine closed four years ago.
